We were approached by the Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, California to make an artwork about healing.

Upon going to Ventura it became clear that the community has a special attachment to the ocean. We wanted to reflect this connection by doing an artwork centered around the idea of the ocean and its ability to heal.

We wanted to create an artwork that focused on the ocean as a cartography of emotions and how it has an intrinsic connection to a serene and peaceful state of mind.

I was responsible for art directing and creating the artwork and managing a group of software developers to bring in data for the playback system. Singularity focuses on 3 movements -ocean as a reflection of emotions , ocean as healing, and ocean as transcendence.

The artwork uses intelligent playback system that takes into account ocean data and makes it so the artwork sequence never repeats and it always feels fresh and new.

The project opened in 2019 and it is now on view at the Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura
